I recently blogged about the Peppered Pickled Pirate Party that's coming up in November on the island of Nevis – but for even more swashbuckling action this Fall, don't miss the Cayman Islands' 32nd Annunal Pirates Week from November 12-22. Held across Grand Cayman, Little Cayman and Cayman Brac, the event includes a staged "pirate invasion" of George Town Harbor, plus street parties, food festivals, a pirate costume competition, and even 5K and 10K runs throughout the week. Most events offer free admission, but to find more information and the full event calendar, just surf over to www.piratesweekfestival.com.
And for all of you pirates out there just trying to save a buck, you're in luck with the new island-wide Free Fallin' promotion. Through December 15, you can cash in on upgrades and savings around the Cayman Islands – like fourth-night-free offers at a variety of hotels; special discounts on Cayman Airways; and a $200 American Express gift check when booking your stay on your American Express card. Fore more information and a full list of participating partners, check out the official site at www.caymanislands.ky/freefallin.

Hey Reagan, comin' to Cayman for Pirates Week ? Love to see you here if you do... there's also just TONS of sporting events going on right now, such as :

- Sun Oct 25th - 2nd Triathlon build up race
- Sun Nov 1st - 3rd Triathlon build up race
- Sun Nov 22nd - www.Reefathlon.com (19 mile bike time trial and "beach break")
- Sun Nov 29th - Cayman Triathlon (Olympic and sprint distance)
- Sun Dec 6th - Cayman Marathon (and half marathon)
Great time to be active in Cayman !
Pirates Week is my favourite time of the year to visit the Cayman Islands.
ReplyDeleteWe have loads of fun noting that it is about a 2 weekend stretch of things to do.
Our favourites is the float parade, the heritage days learning about the island more and the food...man the food is just awesome!
As divers we also enjoy the Underwater Treasure Hunt at Divetech every year. And our kids like the pirate show at their Children Fun Day.
But we have to say the best one of all is the Cardboard boat race on the final weekend. Last year was our first time attending that one and it made me laugh so hard I actually nearly had an accident in my pants! These guys make boats out of cardboard and they have to go around in a circle paddling the boat in the ocean without sinking...hahahahahha... just thinking about it now brings tears to my eyes. It was sooo funny!
But we love the Cayman Islands and Pirates Week will never miss us!
Wish I could make it – hopefully next year! :)
